The John Staub Award for architecture was presented the Texas architecture firm that designed "La Hacienda" at Escondido Golf & Lake Club.
Michael G. Imber Architecture of San Antonio, Texas designed La Hacienda for Escondido Golf & Lake Club as a central gathering place for the golf club's community. The building, which is located near the 9th hole, features rustic stone walls, timbers, and an expansive terrace.
The general manager of the golf club, George Punoose, said of the award, "La Hacienda holds many pleasant memories for our members. We are delighted that Michael's firm was recognized with this prestigious award for their design."
In addition to an outdoor terrace and full equipped chef's kitchen, La Hacienda features a game improvement facility. Members of the golf club can use a year-round enclosed hitting bay outfitted with a V-1 Video Swing Analysis system as well as a Flightscope Launch Monitor system.
The John Staub Award is given by the Texas Chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art in honor of renowned architect John Staub. The award recognizes Texas craftspeople and designers who demonstrate excellence and sensitivity to classical and vernacular traditions.
