Sacramento, California native Nick Watney has had a year to remember so far in 2011, as the 30 year old maintains the FedEx Rankings No. 1 spot. Known for his smooth and technically sound stroke, Watney’s current form has made him a favorite at the British Open on July 14-17.

When you think of young golfers who have dominated the sport, names like Tiger Woods and Annika Sorenstam come to mind. But now, there is a new name to add to that list. Yani Tseng, at the tender age of 22, has become the youngest golfer in history to win four majors after her impressive victory at the LPGA Championship in late June. 29-year old Lorena Ochoa is considered by many to be the greatest Mexican golfer in history, and arguably can be listed amongst the best female golfers thanks to her stellar seven year career. Although retired, Ochoa still maintains her LPGA status in case she ever decides to return to the game.

Known for his crushing drives, 32-year old Gerry “Bubba” Watson continues to rise in the Rolex World Rankings over the past two years, moving up from 54th in 2009 to an impressive 8th the following year. Arguably the best active lefty on the PGA Tour today, Watson currently ranks 10th in the world so far this year, with 839 points and over $1.7M in winnings.
